They transform staple American comfort food into magical food experiences.

The Grind Mac and Cheese Burger Bar delivers one-of-a-kind dining moments to burger and comfort food connoisseurs. It was established in 2017 by Lisa and Mark Laderman and their son, Alan. The restaurant perfectly embodies the family’s passion for food and dedication to showing hospitality to everyone that steps inside. Patrons that experience The Grind’s super F trio — food, feel and fun — are always hyped to go back again and again.

Exploring the food, first and foremost, is a whole new treat in and of itself. They serve America’s favorite comfort foods like burgers, macaroni and cheese, hot wings and ice cream and present them with an out-of-the-box twist.

The Grind’s must-try favorites are Fried Mac and Cheese Balls (deep-fried mac and cheese topped with Cheetos cheese dust), The Luther (bacon cheeseburger served between two grilled glazed donuts), Chocolate Freak Shake (chocolate milkshake topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate cake and more), Grindhouse Nachos (chips, salsa, jalapeños, cheese and beef), Chicky Chicky Parm Parm (fried chicken breast topped with pepperoni, marinara sauce and mozzarella sticks on a homemade brioche bun), The Balboa Burger (a burger topped with pepperoni, marinara sauce, garlic aioli and fried mozzarella) and Freedom Fries (fresh-cut fries with bacon and cheddar cheese fondue).

Their meals have stories that show glimpses of the Laderman family’s traditions. Their stuffed jalapeños, for example, are a Super Bowl staple in their family. And the Cowabunga pizza rolls will make fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles smile and feel nostalgic. These are little stories that make the food more personal and appealing.

Speaking of nostalgia, the feel of The Grind’s restaurant is reminiscent of the late-1980s and early 1990s as these were the years that shaped Alan’s childhood. It features tons of nostalgic items and themes in the décor that will remind the ‘80s and ‘90s kids of that era. The place’s unique atmosphere is a major clue to the patrons that they will have a great time.

The Grind is all about fun and the magic of the moment. Although their priority is always hospitality, the staff goes beyond regular customer service to provide customers with entertaining and wonderful experiences they won’t have in other restaurants. The servers tell jokes, pull pranks and, sometimes, just burst into songs out of nowhere. This is the kind of restaurant no food enthusiast would ever miss out on.

The Grind Mac and Cheese Burger Bar is located at 112 Lovelace St. in Martin, Tennessee.

Their restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
